If you think about it, since the Liberals crowned a senior citizen in 2003, the trend across Canadian politics seems to be towards youth:<\/p>\n<p>BC NDP (November 2003): Elect 45 year old Carole James.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Tories (March 2004): Vote in 44 year old Stephen Harper as their leader.<\/p>\n<p>Ontario Tories (September 2004): Vote in 50 year old John Tory.<\/p>\n<p>Nova Scotia Liberals (October 2004): 44 year old Francis MacKenzie becomes leader.<\/p>\n<p>Quebec Pequistes (November 2005): Line up behind 39 year old Andre Boisclair.<\/p>\n<p>Nova Scotia Conservatives (February 2006): Vote in 34 year old Rodney MacDonald.<\/p>\n<p>I might be missing a few leadership runs in there, but the trend does seem to be to go for younger leaders.
