It’s official: Gilles Duceppe has lost it.<\/p>\n
Duceppe proclaimed today that he hopes the Bloc can win all of Quebec’s 75 seats <\/a>in this election, wiping the Liberals off the map. I don’t know who Duceppe’s pollster is giving him breakdowns of the West Island (Frank Graves?),<\/em> but I think Irwin Cotler <\/a>can likely still sleep easy tonight, despite Duceppe’s boasting.<\/p>\n Then again…the Bloc does have one thing going for them in Quebec <\/a>right now that could set up a sweep. If you’ll recall my BQ preview<\/a>, I gave Duceppe the following advice: 2. And, tonight, Jean Lapierre did not disappoint, becoming the first person (of many<\/em>?) this campaign to compare their opponents to Hitler. OK, OK…I’ll be fair. He compared Duceppe to a “Nazi” – not Hitler. So maybe he only thinks Duceppe is at Goebbel’s or Goering’s level.<\/p>\n
