Indeed, if there&#8217;s one photo op even more irresistible than the Stampede, it&#8217;s a post-disaster zone tour.<\/p>\n<p><code><br \/><\/code><br \/>\n<strong>The Flood Aftermath<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stephen Harper was the first on the scene, playing dress-up in a Canadian Forces flight jacket, complete with pilot wings. Alberta Premier Alison Redford proved to be a bit over eager on this front, sending her pancake into orbit, in what I can only assume was an attempt to out-flip Danielle Smith.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redford-flips-pancake.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redford-flips-pancake-300x218.jpg\" alt=\"redford flips pancake\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redford-flips-pancake-300x218.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redford-flips-pancake-881x641.jpg 881w, https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redford-flips-pancake.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><code><br \/><\/code><\/p>\n<p>Although <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.ca\/2013\/07\/06\/chris-hadfield-tiny-astronaut-calgary-stampede_n_3555054.html\">Chris Hadfield<\/a> was the Stampede grand marshal this year, it appears that Justin Trudeau <em>once again<\/em> managed to overshadow an astronaut. Because everywhere you looked this weekend, there was Justin. At one point yesterday the Calgary Herald had <em>three <\/em>separate Trudeau stories on their website &#8211; this likely isn&#8217;t the first time that\u2019s ever happened, but I suspect it&#8217;s the first time none of the stories involved effigies. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/trudeau-stampede-headlines.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/trudeau-stampede-headlines-255x300.jpg\" alt=\"trudeau stampede headlines\" width=\"255\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5269\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/trudeau-stampede-headlines-255x300.jpg 255w, https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/trudeau-stampede-headlines.jpg 646w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 255px) 100vw, 255px\" \/><\/a><code><br \/><\/code><\/p>\n<p>Mercifully, Justin decided to <a href=\"http:\/\/ca.news.yahoo.com\/blogs\/canada-politics\/justin-trudeau-cargo-shorts-overshadow-liberal-party-success-145751864.html\">forego cargo shorts<\/a> in favour of jeans and belt buckle.
