{"id":4935,"date":"2013-04-02T17:53:48","date_gmt":"2013-04-02T21:53:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=4935"},"modified":"2013-04-02T17:53:48","modified_gmt":"2013-04-02T21:53:48","slug":"robocon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=4935","title":{"rendered":"Robocon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first charges in the Robocon Scandal have been laid against <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.ca\/2013\/04\/02\/michael-sona-charged-robocall_n_2994767.html\">Michael Sona<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Most interesting in this, is that Sona&#8217;s lawyer has signalled they intend to shift the blame to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/politics\/inside-politics-blog\/2013\/04\/statements-from-michael-sona-conservative-party-on-robocall-charge.html\">Conservative Party<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Neither Mr. Sona or I will be making any public statements beyond the following statement at this time.<\/p>\n<p>Although the charge is disappointing, it represents an opportunity for Mr. Sona to finally address the allegations in a court as oppose to in the media and resolve it permanently. I cannot help but comment, that if the government was interested in the public being fully informed and the issue of robocalls being properly addressed, a Full Public Inquiry would be called, rather than a charge laid against a single individual who held a junior position on a single campaign and who clearly lacked the resources and access to the data required to make the robocalls.
