This is an Oilers-only campaign.&#8221;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It appears Daryl Katz has a thing for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/news\/politics\/billionaire-oilers-owner-katz-gave-430000-to-alberta-pcs\/article4647260\/\">crumbling dynasties<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Billionaire Oilers owner Katz gave $430,000 to Alberta PCs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Billionaire entrepreneur and Edmonton Oilers owner Daryl Katz gave Alberta\u2019s Progressive Conservatives nearly half a million dollars \u2013 almost one-third of the party\u2019s total fundraising in a single donation \u2013 as Premier Alison Redford\u2019s cash-strapped campaign was staring down defeat at the ballot box in the spring election. Documents made public by Elections Alberta on Wednesday record $300,000 in donations from Mr. Katz, his company, his family and business associates.<\/p>\n<p>But a source close to the campaign told The Globe and Mail that Mr. Katz provided a cheque for $430,000 to the PCs, a donation that was broken up into smaller pieces.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Although Alberta has a $30,000 individual and corporate donation limit, it appears there&#8217;s nothing to stop an individual from &#8220;drecting&#8221; their contribution through friends and family.<\/p>\n<p>And who can fault Katz?
