{"id":3192,"date":"2011-11-28T10:05:00","date_gmt":"2011-11-28T15:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=3192"},"modified":"2011-11-28T10:05:00","modified_gmt":"2011-11-28T15:05:00","slug":"the-reports-of-our-death-have-been-greatly-exaggerated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=3192","title":{"rendered":"The reports of our death have been greatly exaggerated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s a lot of excitement in Liberal land over the latest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nanosresearch.com\/library\/polls\/2011-11-BallotE.pdf\">Nanos poll<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>CPC 35.6%<br \/>Lib 28.1%<br \/>NDP 27.3%<br \/>Green 3.9%<br \/>BQ 3.9%<\/p>\n<p>As much as I&#8217;d love to jump up and down and chant &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/politics\/story\/2011\/11\/19\/pol-thehouse-newman-ignatieff-liberal.html\"><em>suck it Peter Newman<\/em><\/a>&#8220;, the reality is that this poll is essentially meaningless.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve just been through an exhausting few years politically and voters are thinking about hockey and Christmas and the latest Justin Bieber gossip &#8211; federal politics is the last thing on their minds.<\/p>\n<p>On top of that, the Liberals are leaderless, the NDP are leaderless, and we&#8217;re almost four years away from the next election.
