Stephen Harper will be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/arts\/story\/2011\/07\/13\/harper-murdoch-mysteries-cameo-cop.html\">guest staring<\/a> on Murdoch Mysteries next week &#8211; presumably detective Murdoch will attempt to get a clear answer about the government&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.macleans.ca\/2011\/06\/22\/strategic-review-a-sort-of-answer\/\">mysterious Strategic Review<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>3. There&#8217;s lots of buzz about <a href=\"http:\/\/kainagata.com\/2011\/07\/08\/why-i-quit-my-job\/\">why Kai Nagata quit his job<\/a>. While I take a few issues with parts of his somewhat naive, somewhat self-righteous, and somewhat rambly manifesto, there&#8217;s a lot of truth in what he&#8217;s saying and he deserves credit for his principled and gutsy decision.<\/p>\n<p>4. The David Suzuki Foundation goes after the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidsuzuki.org\/blogs\/climate-blog\/2011\/07\/the-ontario-ndp-platform-politics-trump-good-energy-policyagain\/\">Ontario NDP&#8217;s platform<\/a> &#8211; and justifiably so. The federal NDP and their provincial counterparts <em>in nearly every province<\/em> have opposed carbon taxes and supported tax cuts on pollution. There isn&#8217;t an environmentalist alive who will tell you that&#8217;s good environmental policy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
