Which is good timing, because there&#8217;s actually some real news today, rather than the usual political games which are more fun, but less relevant in the scheme of things.<\/p>\n<p>-It appears Jim <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">Flaherty&#8217;s<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/news\/national\/ottawa-considering-asset-sales\/article1164325\/\">great asset sale<\/a> may include the CBC, VIA Rail, and a slew of other crown corporations. While there&#8217;s a case to be made for unloading non-profitable corporations, this <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">probably<\/span> isn&#8217;t the best market to do it in. And, in the case of the CBC and a few others, you need to look at the <em>indirect<\/em> benefits they create, which may not always show up in the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">ledger<\/span> line.<\/p>\n<p>-At the same time, both the Ontario and Federal government will be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/report-on-business\/gm-faces-high-stakes-high-costs-and-high-hopes\/article1164148\/\">taking on a massive ownership stake in <\/a>GM.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s a new news aggregator in town.
