{"id":2191,"date":"2009-03-13T07:49:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-13T11:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=2191"},"modified":"2009-03-13T07:49:00","modified_gmt":"2009-03-13T11:49:00","slug":"this-week-in-alberta-politicians-on-mushrooms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=2191","title":{"rendered":"This Week in Alberta &#8211; Politicians on Mushrooms!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After spirited debates surrounding Alberta&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/calgarygrit.blogspot.com\/2007\/02\/democracy-derailed.html\">official grass<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/calgarygrit.blogspot.com\/2008\/11\/alberta-stampede.html\">official sport<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/calgarygrit.blogspot.com\/2008\/06\/fortis-et-liber.html\">new license plate design<\/a>, the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">MLAs<\/span> in Edmonton spent some time this week <a href=\"http:\/\/daveberta.blogspot.com\/2009\/03\/this-mushroom-better-be-on-our-liscence.html\">debating what Alberta&#8217;s official mushroom should be<\/a>. <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">Ahh<\/span>, the joys of being in a province where the economy is going so good that legislators can focus on issues like this rather than&#8230;what?&#8230;oh, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalpost.com\/todays_paper\/story.html?id=1304642\">never mind<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You know, if the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">MLAs<\/span> are going to do this, they should at least try and make some cash off of it. Take a page from the Olympics and vote <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">on Alberta&#8217;s<\/span> official soft drink, official gas station, and official credit card.
