The matter is now settled and both parties are pleased with that settlement.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canadavotes\/story\/2008\/10\/10\/cadman-tape.html\">Stephen Harper&#8217;s audio expert<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family:arial;\">A tape recording at the centre of Prime Minister Stephen Harper&#8217;s $3.5-million defamation suit against the Liberal party was not altered as the prime minister has claimed, a court-ordered analysis of the tape by Harper&#8217;s own audio expert has found.<\/p>\n<p>The key portion of the recorded interview of Harper by a B.C. journalist contains no splices, edits or alterations, a U.S. forensic audio expert has determined.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s not that I don&#8217;t believe Pierre <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">Polievre<\/span>, but I&#8217;d be a lot more inclined to accept team Harper&#8217;s talking points if the Tory MP making these claims was an <em>expert<\/em> in the field of tape-doctoring like, say, <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">Gurmant<\/span> <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\">Grewal<\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From QP today: Mr. Pierre Poilievre (Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, CPC): Mr. Speaker, it is clear, in fact, that the tape was tampered.
