{"id":1980,"date":"2008-10-15T17:53:00","date_gmt":"2008-10-15T21:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=1980"},"modified":"2008-10-15T17:53:00","modified_gmt":"2008-10-15T21:53:00","slug":"real-leaders-have-six-points-in-their-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=1980","title":{"rendered":"Real leaders have SIX points in their plans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I hate to sound cynical, but if it wasn&#8217;t for that bonus sixth point, I&#8217;d swear that Harper&#8217;s new <a href=\"http:\/\/ottawa.ctv.ca\/servlet\/an\/local\/CTVNews\/20081014\/election2008_harper_dayafter_081015\/20081015\/?hub=OttawaHome\">six point economic plan<\/a> sounds a lot like Dion&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liberal.ca\/story_15109_e.aspx\">five point economic plan<\/a> which Harper was attacking just a week ago.<\/p>\n<p>Actually, that&#8217;s not fair. Only two of the points are lifted directly from Dion&#8217;s <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">notaplan<\/span>. As for the other four:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family:arial;\">1. The Bank of Canada and Minister of Finance will monitor financial markets.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family:arial;\"><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family:arial;\">2. Canada will attend the Canada-EU summit.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family:arial;\"><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family:arial;\">3. Canada will attend the meeting of G-20 Finance Ministers.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family:arial;\"><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family:arial;\">4. &#8220;Government spending will be focused and kept under control as the strategic review of departmental spending &#8212; now in the second year of a four year review &#8211; continues.&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know about you, but this really <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">reassures<\/span> me and confirms that Canadians concerned about the economy made the right decision yesterday. After all, it takes a real leader to commit that Canada will attend the <strong>Canada<\/strong>-EU summit.
