The obvious disclaimer is that these post-debate polls rarely tell the full story &#8211; Harper won the &#8217;04 debate but it marked the begining of his tail spin. But the news is good for Dion today.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cyberpresse.ca\/actualites\/elections-2008\/enjeux\/sondages\/200810\/02\/01-25550-duceppe-et-dion-les-grands-gagnants.php\"><strong>CROP<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Most Convincing<\/strong><br \/><span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">Duceppe<\/span> 33%<br \/>Dion 30%<br \/>Layton 15%<br \/>Harper 12%<br \/>May 2%<\/p>\n<p><strong>Least Convincing<\/strong><br \/>Harper 46%<br \/>May 32%<br \/>Layton 9%<br \/>Dion 6%<br \/><span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">Duceppe<\/span> 5%<\/p>\n<p><strong>Did Your Opinion of the Parties Improve or Worsen?<\/strong><br \/>Liberals: 45% improved, 10% worsened<br \/><span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">NDP<\/span>: 33% improved, 4% worsened<br \/>Green: 37% improved, 8% worsened<br \/>Bloc: 21% improved, 8% worsened<br \/>Tories: 9% improved, 29% worsened<\/p>\n<p>So, the CROP summary is: <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">Duceppe<\/span> did great but everyone expected him to, Layton was good but didn&#8217;t really grab anyone, Harper sucked, and Dion gained the most of anyone.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipsos-na.com\/news\/pressrelease.cfm?id=4103\"><strong><u><span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\">IPSOS<\/span><\/u><\/strong> <\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Winner<\/strong><br \/>Dion 40%<br \/>Duceppe 24%<br \/>Harper 16%<br \/>Layton 11%<br \/>May 1%<\/p>\n<p><strong>Most Prime Ministerial<\/strong><br \/>Dion 36% (!)<br \/>Harper 31%<br \/>Duceppe 17%<br \/>Layton 12%<br \/>May 1%<\/p>\n<p><strong>Did Your Opinion of the Leaders Improve or Worsen?<\/strong><br \/>Dion: 67% improved, 11% worsened<br \/>Layton: 55% improved, 7% worsened<br \/>Duceppe: 41% improved, 11% worsened<br \/>May: 42% improved, 24% worsened<br \/>Harper: 14% improved, 53% worsened<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UPDATE: The Globe runs down the french media reviews.
