{"id":1896,"date":"2008-09-05T19:05:00","date_gmt":"2008-09-05T23:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=1896"},"modified":"2008-09-05T19:05:00","modified_gmt":"2008-09-05T23:05:00","slug":"a-typical-end-of-summer-friday-slow-news-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=1896","title":{"rendered":"A Typical End of Summer Friday Slow News Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not!<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve got a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20080905.wscoc0905\/BNStory\/National\/home\">new Supreme Court Justice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve got a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.electchristine.ca\/\">spousal candidate swap in Trinity <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">Spadina<\/span><\/a> (and no, it won&#8217;t be Jack running instead of Olivia there).<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve got David Emerson and Bernard Lord being named <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/canada\/story\/2008\/09\/05\/emerson-election.html\">Tory campaign co chairs<\/a> which is&#8230;I dunno if &#8220;weird&#8221; is the right word but it might be.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20080905.welexcomuzzi0905\/BNStory\/National\/home\">Joe <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">Comuzzi<\/span> isn&#8217;t running again<\/a>, which really doesn&#8217;t seem like I big deal, but would have been worth a post of it&#8217;s own a month ago.<\/p>\n<p>And the NDP have a <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.macleans.ca\/2008\/09\/05\/such-a-refreshing-change-from-flirting-with-quebec-separatists\/\">Newfoundland separatist running<\/a> for Loyola Hearn&#8217;s old seat! No, <em>not<\/em> Jerry Boyle &#8211; a real one!<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20080905.welectiontax0905\/BNStory\/National\/home\">this bit of news<\/a> that makes me think Paul <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">Hellyer<\/span> will be announced as a Tory candidate in the coming days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not!
