But, it just <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">wouldn<\/span>\u2019t be a Quebec 400<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">th<\/span> anniversary event without a bit of <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">helter<\/span> <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">skelter<\/span> and, sure enough, yesterday, the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">PQ<\/span> culture critic told Sir. Paul McCartney to jet back to England <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20080716.wmccartney0716\/BNStory\/National\">because<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family:arial;\">\u201cI like Paul McCartney but, given the context, this is the straw that breaks the camel&#8217;s back,\u201d said <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\">Curzi<\/span>, referring to what he called the \u201c<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_6\">Canadianization<\/span>\u201d of Quebec City&#8217;s 400<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_7\">th<\/span>-birthday celebrations.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jean <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_8\">Charest<\/span> did help a bit by telling the press that <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_9\">Curzi<\/span> to let it be, but you\u2019<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_10\">ve<\/span> got to figure it won\u2019t be long until Gilles <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_11\">Duceppe<\/span> starts to twist and shout over this junk.<\/p>\n<p><em>Horrible<\/em> puns aside, I&#8217;m changing my &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/calgarygrit.blogspot.com\/2008\/07\/at-issuethe-thrilling-conclusion.html\">At Issue<\/a>&#8221; vote to this Quebec City anniversary as the most over-exploited issue of the year.
