Bush&#8217;s penchant for street slang was again on display on the first day of the Group of Eight summit in Japan. A televised feed of the event showed Bush casually wrapping an arm around Nigerian President <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">Umaru<\/span> <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">Yar&#8217;Adua<\/span> and calling for Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper&#8217;s attention.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yo, Harper. The president of Nigeria.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>For the record, I don\u2019t particularly care how <a href=\"http:\/\/canadianpress.google.com\/article\/ALeqM5i3Hg6WKMr9JF96tQjA-_RZWuxTZw\"><span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">Dubya<\/span> addresses Stephen Harper<\/a>. They can high five each other, hug, or do the secret <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">neocon<\/span> handshake, and it won&#8217;t mean much to me. But, being in July, I guess this is what passes for political news.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\">ve<\/span> been browsing a few wire reports on the story and I must say I did enjoy seeing the following descriptions applied to our PM by the <a href=\"http:\/\/africa.reuters.com\/odd\/news\/usnN07378333.html\">international press<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201ca rather stiff and shy figure\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cthe somewhat wooden Canadian leader\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSUTSU, Japan \u2014 First it was &#8220;Yo, Blair,&#8221; and now it&#8217;s &#8220;Yo, Harper.&#8221; U.S. President George W.
