The next big test is South Carolina, where McCain will try and exorcise the ghosts of 2000. Meanwhile, Giuliani&#8217;s strategy to lull his opponents into a sense of overconfidence by sucking royally in the early primaries appears to be working <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">swimmingly<\/span>, given his 3% sixth place showing in Michigan.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biz.uiowa.edu\/iem\/markets\/data_nomination08.html\">The<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/fantasy08.realclearpolitics.com\/aav2\/trading\/tradingHTML.jsp#\">markets <\/a>still have McCain in front but no one seems to stay the front runner for long in this race.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5156222530464168578\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_L6NW1UySEKs\/R46VEpcuuoI\/AAAAAAAAAT4\/6c9Lbu718yo\/s200\/president.bmp\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>In Other News&#8230;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-Having already gone with a brutally bad pun in the post headline, I&#8217;ll resist the urge to use any obvious &#8220;nuclear&#8221; play-on-words when recapping the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20080116.wlunnmain0116\/BNStory\/National\/home\">Linda Keen firing<\/a>. Actually, I won&#8217;t use any words to recap this one because, truth be told, I haven&#8217;t been following this story very closely. Thoughts?<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">Writer&#8217;s<\/span> strike got you down? Well, the CBC will be airing another edition of &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/testthenation\/\">Test the Nation<\/a>&#8221; this Sunday. I mention this only because I will be part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/testthenation\/episodes\/trivia\/teams\/bloggers.html\">blogging team <\/a>(which will, I suspect, be quite ineffective without our trusted friend &#8220;<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">google<\/span>&#8220;). With over 200 people in studio, this should give me a good idea of what it&#8217;s like to be a backbench MP, if nothing else.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">PTimHB<\/span> has more on the upcoming Alberta election &#8211; looks like a <a href=\"http:\/\/pierretrudeauismyhomeboy.blogspot.com\/2008\/01\/stelmach-flip-flops-on-health-premiums.html\">promise to scrap health care premiums<\/a> could be in <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\">Stelmach&#8217;s<\/span> platform.
