Since Premiers hate a strong central government, we&#8217;re going the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">asymmetrical<\/span> federalism route for round one, and ten separate blogs are each using a technique of their own choosing to find our ten contenders. The first round should be done by Sunday, July 29<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">th<\/span>. I&#8217;ll be providing periodic updates over the next dozen days. For now, these provinces have started things off:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">-MMP<\/span> advocate Mark <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">Greenan<\/span> is going the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">STV<\/span> route for the <a href=\"http:\/\/markgreenan.blogspot.com\/\">PEI battle<\/a>, selecting 12 Premiers (6 Liberals and 6 Tories)<\/p>\n<p>-Voting is now open for <a href=\"http:\/\/robedger.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/british-columbias-best-premier-vote.html\"><span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_6\">BC&#8217;s<\/span> Best Premier<\/a> (perhaps &#8220;BC&#8217;s least worst Premier&#8221; would be a better title)<\/p>\n<p>-Louis <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_7\">Robichaud<\/span>, the beneficiary of a <a href=\"http:\/\/ualberta.facebook.com\/note.php?note_id=2480694283&#038;ref=nf\"><span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_8\">facebook<\/span> campaign<\/a>, has taken the early lead in the <a href=\"http:\/\/nbpolitico.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/best-premier-qualifying-round.html\">New Brunswick poll<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>-Mike Harris has the early lead over favourites Oliver <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_9\">Mowat<\/span> and Bill Davis in the preliminary round of <a href=\"http:\/\/northernontarioliberal.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/ontarios-best-premier-qualifying-round.html\">Ontario voting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got blogs lined up for the other six province &#8211; expect polls to be posted there within the next few days.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>UPDATE:<\/em><\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/endlessspin.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/let-voting-begin.html\">Manitoba is off and running<\/a>, with a video and everything.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"http:\/\/devliegerd.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/canadas-greatest-premier-saskatchewan.html\">Saskatchewan <\/a>has a poll up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Things are off and running in the search for Canada&#8217;s Best Premier.
