{"id":1449,"date":"2007-07-12T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-07-13T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=1449"},"modified":"2007-07-12T20:00:00","modified_gmt":"2007-07-13T00:00:00","slug":"the-search-for-canadas-best-premier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calgarygrit.ca\/?p=1449","title":{"rendered":"The Search for Canada&#8217;s Best Premier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After <a href=\"http:\/\/calgarygrit.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/summer-in-city.html\">much discussion<\/a>, I\u2019<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">ve<\/span> decided to go with a \u201cCanada\u2019s Best Premier\u201d contest for my summer fun activity (some people travel, some take up volleyball\u2026I blog about history\u2026). I recognize there may not be a ton of name recognition for all of these guys (and I say \u201cguys\u201d because they\u2019re pretty much all guys), but part of the purpose is to learn a little bit too.<\/p>\n<p>As for format, the first round will select one Premier from each province to enter the knock-out bracket. As a twist this year, I\u2019m going to outsource the first round. So if anyone would like to host the first round for their home province, please drop me an e-mail [calgarygrit@gmail.com]. My goal is to find <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">bloggers<\/span> from 10 provinces, to each run a poll for a couple of days on their blog, to crown a winner. I\u2019ll co-ordinate and post links to all the individual battles.<\/p>\n<p>Once 10 winners have been selected, the six longest serving Premiers will earn the top 6 seeds and the four shortest servers will duke it out for the final 2 spots. This will set us up for three rounds of <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">knock<\/span>-out matches until Canada\u2019s Best Premier is crowned.<\/p>\n<p>So, for now, I need to hear from <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">bloggers<\/span> coast to coast (Liberal, Tory, Dipper, you name it) interested in hosting a first round <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">matchup<\/span>.
