With PEI, Manitoba, and (for now) Quebec, all behind us, the eyes of election aficionados turn next to Ontario. <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">SES<\/span> has it in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.torontosun.com\/News\/Canada\/2007\/06\/03\/4230460-sun.html\">dead heat<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>Liberal 29.8%<br \/>Tories 29.8%<br \/><span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">NDP<\/span> 16%<br \/>Greens 9.3%<\/p>\n<p>That, in itself, isn&#8217;t too bad, but it&#8217;s not a good sign for <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\">McGuinty<\/span> that he ties Tory on the &#8220;best Premier&#8221; question and that wrong track beats right direction 46% to 35.3%.<\/p>\n<p>I still think <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_6\">McGuinty<\/span> will win, but both Ontario and Saskatchewan should be interesting to watch this fall.<\/p>\n<p>3. Down in the States, the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_7\">Dems<\/span> held a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2007\/POLITICS\/06\/03\/nh.debate.main\/index.html\">New Hampshire debate <\/a>on Sunday, with Edwards going after the top 2. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/nation\/articles\/2007\/06\/02\/gore_unsure_of_political_aptitude_report\/\">Speculation <\/a>continues about Al Gore. And for Republicans finally have a <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bostonherald.com\/politics\/view.bg?articleid=1004646\">candidate <\/a>able to run a credible law and order campaign.<\/p>\n<p>4. This week&#8217;s Hill Times has an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehilltimes.ca\/html\/index.php\">article <\/a>about Tory staffers being less than pleased about being banned from <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_8\">facebook<\/span>. Perhaps most interesting is that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stephentaylor.ca\/\">Stephen Taylor <\/a>is their source for defending the government position in the story (at the same time his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stephentaylor.ca\/archives\/000845.html\">blog hypes <\/a>the new blogging Tories <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_9\">facebook<\/span> application).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
