BUT&#8230;if the Tory internals show numbers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctv.ca\/servlet\/ArticleNews\/story\/CTVNews\/20070328\/leger_poll_070328\/20070328?hub=Politics\">like this <\/a>consistently over the next few weeks, Harper would be crazy <em>not<\/em> to pull the trigger.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>UPDATE: <\/em><\/strong>I was just about to post when I came across <a href=\"http:\/\/www.680news.com\/news\/local\/article.jsp?content=20070329_165240_5932\">this poll<\/a>. I can&#8217;t take any poll that has the Liberal party at 22% too seriously but&#8230;wow. Quite simply &#8211; wow.<\/p>\n<p>-I don&#8217;t know why anyone would want to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/LAC.20070329.QUEBEC29\/TPStory\/Front\">lead the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">PQ<\/span> <\/a>given the shape that party is in right now. But, at the same time, there&#8217;s not much left for Gilles <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">Duceppe<\/span> to do in Ottawa which hasn&#8217;t already been done before so I guess a jump provincially shouldn&#8217;t be too surprising.<\/p>\n<p>-I&#8217;m not sure what can be said about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macleans.ca\/canada\/national\/article.jsp?content=20070329_091057_7012\">Danny Williams <\/a>which hasn&#8217;t already been said before. Canadian federalism seems to require a &#8220;bad boy&#8221; and with Harper smitten with the Premier of Quebec and Ralph Klein gone from Alberta, Williams seems to be willing to step up to the microphone and assume that role.<\/p>\n<p>-Speaking of thorns in Stephen Harper&#8217;s side, Bernard Shapiro is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20070329.wshapiro0329\/BNStory\/National\/home\">GONE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>-I know that if I were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com\/News\/article\/197236\">given the choice <\/a>between meeting <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">Vladislav<\/span> <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">Tretiak<\/span> and the President of Liberia, I wouldn&#8217;t think twice about going with the former.
