Some scary musings about Harper <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com\/NASApp\/cs\/ContentServer?pagename=thestar\/Layout\/Article_Type1&#038;c=Article&amp;amp;cid=1163112610095&amp;call_pageid=970599119419\">considering constitutional reform <\/a>and a massive decentralization of power.<\/p>\n<p>2. Howard Dean will be the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/LAC.20061110.LIBSDEAN10\/TPStory\/National\">keynote speaker <\/a>Wednesday night at the Liberal convention. Since I&#8217;m a day late, the obvious &#8220;<em>we&#8217;re going to Regina, then Calgary, then Quebec&#8230;YEEHAW<\/em>!&#8221; and &#8220;<em>third straight American speaker<\/em>&#8221; jokes have already been taken. Personally, I&#8217;m looking forward to listening to Dean and a party which has constantly used a &#8220;2 province strategy&#8221; could probably learn something from his &#8220;50 state strategy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s not a bad move by Dean himself considering what&#8217;s happened to the last two keynote speakers before him. Bono spoke in 2003 and went on to win <a href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2005\/US\/12\/18\/time.poy\/index.html\">Person of the Year<\/a>. In 2005, this Harvard professor who had never held political office spoke and a year later he was the frontrunner to be leader of the Liberal Party.
